Connect with your shadow
These readings are timeless. Trust what resonates and allow yourself to let go of what doesn’t.
Here’s what no one wants to tell you about shadow work: it is emotionally exhausting. It requires presence, bravery, and a willingness to truly see yourself in all its messiness. Capitalism has you convinced that you are broken (not true) and that you can buy a 60-minute workshop or rare supplement to fix yourself in an instant (also false).
The soul flickers
When you’re up at night scrolling for the perfect solution, your soul is waking you to ask for an alternative. The soul is asking for stillness, emptiness, silence, the soul is asking to be seen. Asking for just a flicker of light, a chance to show itself after years of being partially obscured. It wants its moment to shine in its entirety.
And by the way, shadow parts are not what you think. They are not relegated to the darkness because they are bad, they are not made up of dense dark energy. They are innocent parts, and they are only in the darkness because you, or someone else, put them there. The act of reclaiming them, bringing them into the light, is the first step in seeing your hidden parts and learning about the joy and wisdom held within them.
no reward without risk
You have two choices. You can continue to cruise through life, never making waves, never veering off course. Or, you can steer the wheel into uncharted waters, dive deep and uncover the hidden treasure. There is no reward without the risk.
Even if you don’t feel ready, it’s your job to trust that the journey there is the point. The obstacles you encounter when you look in the mirror, when you self-reflect, the resistance you feel in your chest and in your throat – these are all essential initiations into your future self.
You have to walk through something that feels a lot like fear to escape the illusion of being broken. The ‘fix’ for how you’re feeling is to feel it fully, let it pass, and make friends with the ‘you’ who is left standing with this newfound wisdom of withstanding all that life force energy.
The fear that you may not even realise is lurking inside you is this: what if I become too powerful for my own good?
route to a truthful life
You worry that you can’t hold all the abundance that you dream of, you fear that if you do love yourself unconditionally, it will sever connections with those you love. The truth is that your frequency will attract people who challenge you. To live a life unchallenged is not a truthful life. But the more compassionate you become for your own shadow parts, the more compassionate you become with others, too.
You begin to see these relational challenges as part of the journey, an invitation to continually reintroduce yourself with love, to maintain distance in a loving way, and to communicate in a loving way. To get angry and frustrated, and disappointed, but still be able to hold the capacity to give and receive love.
Find a witness
Community is essential for your shadow work. When your parts are witnessed by those who don’t see you as a threat, your nervous system begins to learn that authenticity is your most peaceful and comfortable home. Open hearts can show you how to open your own. Different parts of you may need different spaces to feel that love. Be discerning about who you allow into your energetic space, especially when you are only just becoming familiar with these shadow parts.
In a few months, life may not look like how you predicted. That’s because you’ve been making plans with a limited view of your potential, but when you uncover the wholeness of your soul through shadow work, you become able to hold energies that would never have made their way to you otherwise. You can finally steer the ship towards something unimaginable.
Love you,
Fiona
